PCS provide service contracts for Software, Hardware and Hosting. Software Contracts Software support is available for all PCS authored products through an annual support agreement. The contract also includes fixing all software updates to PCS products. In addition support is available for third party products used in conjunction with PCS products, in these cases PCS normally take out contracts with the third party company to ‘underpin’ this support, these normally include free upgrades and ‘bug’ fixes. PCS also provide ‘advice and guidance’ for third party platform products. Contracts are normally for office hours or 24x7, although other bespoke periods of cover can be arranged. Support outside office hours is provided by a rota of technical staff. Hardware Contracts Hardware support is available for most Sun, Microsoft and Apple based equipment together with many printers, backup, storage, communications and other devices. In some cases hardware is serviced directly by qualified PCS technical staff, in others cases contracts are out-sourced, although PCS are always the first point of contact ensuring responsibility for the whole system where a corresponding software contract is also in place. Hosting Contracts Hosting contracts are for Internet hosting contract provided by PCS from their Wolverhampton offices. They enable various services to be hosted for publishing on the Internet with full resilience and security. Various peripheral services are available such as periodic uploading or downloading of customer data, provision of statistics etc. these can all be tailored to the customer’s requirements. All hosted services are fully monitored with SMS messaging to support staff on 24x7 standby.
